The Gospel of Luke
The New Testament provides four different Gospels that present the Good News of Jesus Christ. While there is significant overlap in the Gospel narratives, each Gospel has several distinctives that set it apart from the others. Luke’s Gospel is distinct in its emphasis on the early life of Jesus and on Jesus as Savior of the world, and not merely the Jewish Messiah. Another distinctive aspect is that it is the only Gospel with a sequel: the Book of Acts. While Acts is fresh in our minds (we studied fall 2024), we have the opportunity this semester to study Luke’s first volume, the Gospel of Luke.
Location: Fellowship Hall
Teachers: Phil Bishop, Jonathan Guin, Mike Picone

Real Change, Real Life: Exploring the Doctrine of Sanctification
This class will help us see how God’s work of making us holy is not just a lofty concept but a practical reality that transforms our attitudes, actions, and affections. Drawing upon the book, Sanctification: Set Apart and Growing in Christ by Marny Kostenberger, we will explore the concepts of holiness and sanctification as they are presented throughout the Bible. We will also utilize the book Deeper: Real Change for Real Sinners by Dane Ortlund, as we uncover what it means to be made holy and grow in Christ as we abide in, and respond to, God’s grace and power in our lives. Whether you’re new in faith or seeking to go deeper, this class will equip you to experience transformation as God works in and through us for His glory.
Location: Annex
Teachers: Jeremy Henderson, Marshall Renicks, Keith Watson

The Gospel of Luke from the Outside In
Middle-schoolers will be studying the Gospel of Luke, with the help of a resource called The Gospel of Luke from the Outside In, by David Morlan, edited by D.A. Carson. This class will focus on the transformative power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, paying particular attention to the heart of Jesus towards those who may be considered to be “outsiders.” Middle school students will be encouraged to trust and follow Jesus so that they can experience his salvation and power, while also participating in the Lord’s mission to bring the good news of Christ to those who might be “outsiders” in their own lives.
Location: Library
Teachers: Jim Gleason, Amber Henderson, Minda Paxton
