Daddy Daughter Date Reflections
It is hard to describe what an incredible joy it is when multiple ministry areas merge to create an impactful event. At our recent Daddy Daughter Date night, our Men’s Ministry and Deacons Ministry, along with many servant leaders, contributed to a most memorable evening. Having a daddy/daughter event where just dads and their daughters enjoyed a special dinner easily translates to a “home run.”
However, when you add . . .
a professional-looking photo booth with balloon towers,
a balloon-twisting master creating animals, flowers, and crowns,
a dance floor with tons of balloons, hoppin’ music, line dancing, and mirrored disco ball,
an ice cream bar with all the sprinkly, gooey, delicious add-ons,
a restaurant-style room with awesome table decorations for dessert eating,
and a karaoke stage filled with future stars and hilarious dad-wannabes,
you have yourselves a GRANDSLAM! The gleam in the daughters’ eyes and the smiles on their faces reflected the specialness of the evening.
What made it even more special were all the people who worked either behind the scenes or on duty that night to serve the dads and daughters. Many service hours of event-planning, organizing, recruiting, purchasing, hauling, returning, putting together, photographing, climbing, taping, gluing, dipping, inflating, cleaning, setting up, tearing down, and facilitating were invested. Wow! It makes one grateful to belong to such a servant-minded community of believers as Grace Church! Thank you!
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:10
