2019 Spring Sunday School Classes

Romans: Martin Luther once said of Romans, “It is well worth a Christian's while not only to memorize it word for word but also to occupy himself with it daily, as though it were the daily bread of the soul." Participants in this class will study Paul’s magnificent letter to the church in Rome.  This class will be taught by Dan Arsenault, Robert Griffith, and Jeremy Henderson in the Fellowship Hall.

The Atonement - Genesis to Revelation: From the Old Testament stories and prophecies foreshadowing the coming Messiah who would make atonement for sins with His own body and blood to the revelation of Jesus Christ as the crucified and risen Savior, the thread of atonement is woven throughout the Scriptures.  Participants in this class will dig into the scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, to explore the concept of atonement which lies at the heart of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The class will be taught by Phil Bishop, Barry McGlothin, and Mike Picone in the Annex.

Preaching the Gospel to Yourself: In this women-only class, participants will explore and discuss Milton Vincent’s A Gospel Primer for Christians. God did not give us His gospel just so we could embrace it and be converted. He offers it to us every day as a gift that keeps on giving us everything we need for life and godliness. This class is an opportunity to learn how to preach the gospel to yourself daily to strengthen your faith and define what you believe and why. This class will be taught by Susan Griffith, Elizabeth Renicks, and Eliza Marks in the Library.

Colossians—Youth Class (for students in 7th-10th Grade): In his letter to the Colossians, Paul is combating the false teaching that Jesus was not truly God.  Students today face this same teaching in a variety of places, so we will be focusing on the divine nature of Jesus as communicated through scripture.  Taught by a team of youth parents in the Annex.

Note: Students in 11th and 12th grades will attend one of the adult classes
